Commercial Construction in Victoria, TX

Your building goes up. Your business keeps running.

You need a new office, a shop, a store, or a warehouse. What you do not need is a contractor who disappears for two weeks and calls you when there is a problem.
NTEX Construction builds commercial space in Victoria and across Victoria County. Trust this faith owned and operated business. You get an owner on the phone, not a project coordinator three states away. Call (361) 645-4000 and tell us what you are building.

What we build for Victoria businesses

01
New buildings and full remodels. Front desk to back hallway.
02
Shell space turned into a store people want to walk into.
03
Metal buildings, concrete, dock height, the works.
04

Clinics and medical offices

Rooms that pass inspection and hold up to daily traffic.
05
We have done sanctuary work and classroom work.
06
Kitchens, dining rooms, patios.
07

Retail on the ground floor, something else above it.
Not sure which bucket you fall in? Call. We will tell you straight if it is our kind of job.

Every day you are closed costs you money

That is the part most contractors skip over.

A store shut down for a remodel is a store making nothing. A clinic that loses three exam rooms loses three rooms of patients. We build the schedule around that.

Sometimes that means working in phases so half your floor stays open. Sometimes it means nights and weekends. Sometimes it means we stage the whole job so the loud, dusty part happens in one short window instead of dragging out for a month.

We talk about this in the first meeting, before anyone draws anything. Tell us what you cannot afford to shut down and we build around it.

Commercial permits in Victoria have more moving parts

A house has one path. A commercial building has several, running at the same time.

Plan review

Commercial plans go to Development Services at 700 Main Center. Victoria enforces the current international codes with its own amendments on top.

Zoning and site plan

Parking counts, setbacks, drainage, landscaping, where the driveway goes. This gets settled before the building does.

Fire

Exits, alarms, sprinklers, and access for a truck. The fire marshal signs off.

State accessibility review

Here is the one that catches owners by surprise. Any commercial project in Texas with a construction cost of $50,000 or more has to be registered with the state and reviewed by a Registered Accessibility Specialist. There is an inspection at the end too. Miss it and you are fixing finished work.

We track all of it. You get a straight answer when you ask where things stand.

The clay under your slab does not care how big the building is

Victoria sits on heavy Gulf Coast clay. Some of it runs 45 to 60 percent clay.

In a dry summer that ground splits open. Cracks run two or three inches wide and go down several feet. Then it rains and the clay swells back up. Every single year.

A warehouse slab has more surface sitting on that ground than a house does. Get it wrong and you get cracks in the floor, doors that stick, and racking that no longer sits level.

We start with the dirt. Soil work first, slab engineered for what that soil actually does, and grading so water leaves the site instead of pooling at your foundation.

Metal buildings, poured right

A lot of Victoria County work is metal. Shops, storage, equipment barns, small warehouses.

We do the whole thing. Slab, anchor bolts, erection, doors, insulation, and the interior if you want office space inside it.

The slab is the part people underestimate. A metal building is only as square as the concrete under it.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on size and how much approval the job needs. A finish-out inside existing walls moves fast. A new building on raw land takes longer, and permitting is usually the slow part. We give you a real schedule up front and tell you the day it changes.
Usually yes. We phase the work, wall off the active area, and put the loud parts where they hurt least. Tell us your busy hours in the first meeting.
Yes. City plan review, zoning, fire marshal, and the state accessibility review for jobs over $50,000. You do not chase any of it.
Texas requires any commercial project costing $50,000 or more to be registered with the state and reviewed by a licensed accessibility specialist. There is an inspection after construction. It covers things like door widths, restrooms, ramps, and parking. We build to it from day one so nothing gets torn out later.
Yes. We work across Victoria County and the Crossroads. County jobs skip city permits but pick up their own steps, usually septic and access.
Yes. Metal is often the right call for shops, storage, and warehouse space. We pour the slab and put the building up.
Yes. Bring your lease and your landlord’s requirements. We will work inside what the landlord allows and get you open.
