New Home Construction in Victoria, TX

Build a new home in Victoria without the guesswork

Maybe you already own the lot. Maybe you are still looking. Either way, the next question is the same. Who builds it?
NTEX Construction builds new homes in Victoria and across Victoria County. We are a family company. Our shop sits in Goliad, about 30 miles down Highway 59. Family owned and operated. Your job is bid by an owner, and then overseen start to finish by an owner!
Most of our new homes take 6 to 9 months to build. Call (361) 645-4000 and tell us what you have in mind.

What we build in Victoria

We build one thing very well: a single-family home, made for the people living in it.
01

Build on your own land

You have acreage outside town or a lot in a subdivision. We handle the dirt work, the slab, and the house.

02

Start from your plan or ours

Bring blueprints, a napkin sketch, or a photo you saved. We draw it up and change it until it looks right to you.
03

Pick your own finishes

Floor plan, cabinets, counters, flooring, paint. Your budget sets the limit, not our catalog.

The ground in Victoria moves. Your slab has to deal with it.

The soil across this part of the Gulf Coast is heavy clay. Some of it runs 45 to 60 percent clay.

Here is what that means for a house. In a dry August the ground pulls apart. Cracks open up two or three inches wide and run down several feet. Then a storm rolls in and the clay swells right back. It does this every year.

A slab poured without a plan for that ground will crack. So will the drywall above it, and the doors will stop closing.
We start with the dirt. Soil work first, then a slab sized for what that soil does. We also grade the lot so water runs away from the house instead of sitting against it.

City lot or county land, the paperwork is different

Inside the city limits, plans go to Development Services at 700 Main Center. Victoria builds to the 2021 International Residential Code, with local changes on top of it. We pull the permit and meet the inspectors.

Outside the city limits, there is no city permit. There is septic. Victoria County Public Health handles septic permits for the state. Before you can apply, a licensed evaluator has to dig test holes on your lot and write up the soil. You need a survey and a plat too. No one turns dirt until it clears.

Own 10 acres or more with one house on it? You may not need the septic permit at all. We check that early, before you pay for something you do not need.

What a new home costs here

Nobody can quote a house off a phone call, and anyone who does is guessing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Four to six months for most homes. Size and design move that number. Rain moves it too, and we tell you when it does.

No. Plenty of folks call us first. We will look at lots with you and tell you what each one costs to build on. That part is worth knowing before you buy.

Yes. We build all over Victoria County and the Crossroads. County land has its own steps, mostly septic, and we handle those.

We do. City plan review, county septic, every inspection. You do not chase paperwork.

Yes. Bring what you have. We will review it, tell you what it takes to build here, and adjust anything that fights our soil or the code.

Talk to us. Some changes are easy and some are expensive, and we will tell you which one yours is before you decide. Then we put the new price in writing.

A septic system needs a licensed evaluator and a county permit before anything gets installed. If there is no water line, you need a well. We line up both and keep them on schedule with the build.
